Al'rite Me Old Cocker!!
I was beginning to think these wonderful people were disappearing. Apparently There used to be 28 families in London. One for each London Borough, one for the City of Westminster and one for the City of London. They do a lot of great work for various charities. The Costermongers developed their now world-famous rhyming slang and, well, no other subculture will ever match that pearly look!!I'm reminded of my own work at Spitalfields market when I see them, and of how important it is to care and look after your own, and of their motto: " Honour ,Trust and Loyalty.
We made it!!xxx...Finishing the Fairlie Court Neighbourhood Garden Project
I don't mind telling you that I was genuinely really moved by the great and broad level of participation, enthusiam , love, experience, skills, and expertise brought to this project by all the residents of Fairlie Court. Thanks also to Barry R Day for bringing us the Soil and Plants, and to Ashley and Lisa and some other very special "neighbours" from Bow Arts.
Getting involved in this has increased my knowledge of basic gardening tips. It's also great to simply relate to your neighbours!!

Phoenix Self-Build Project

Here's "Lethal Large" making the walls inside ground floor flat no 14 as smooth as a babies bottom!!..Go Ian!!
Site manager Chris Bridges blowing out the debris from the external holes I drilled earlier. Preparing the walls for an injection of damp-coursing fluid which will remove the water build up inside the walls.
Here I am posing with my new favourite "toy"... A 110v Breaker ...The vibrations that it creates can induce permanent nerve damage if you expose yourself to the vibrations longer than 15-20 mins. Ear phones are essential as it creates a deafening din!!
Yesterday( wednesday April 29th) , under the skillful guidance and tuition of site manager Chris Bridges , I learned how to fit a toilet & sistern. Connect the pipes, assemble and fit a bathroom sink, braze together my first copper piping joints and check for leaks. Sucessfully (temporarily, until all the wall rendering is complete) fitting a working toilet and sink!...This is something they should teach 11-16 year olds to do at school!..I feel empowered. Learning these types of skills can save you money, nay, make you money, in the long run. The self-build project can equipe you with the sort of skills that can help you in all kinds of relevant ways: Give your skills and self-confidence a boost. Get down to site (if you're a phoenix member) and help give this project, and your creative potential a real boost!
Diggin' it @ Fairlie Court

Once again ...my heart swells with pride and admiration for the Phoenix and Poplar Harker tenants who have helped this morning to lift up 4 tons of fresh compost and topsoil and new plants including bronze fennel, camomile, thyme, rosemary, lavender, sage, chives & majoram for our communial space...Something really wonderful is happening ...and it's great to be and feel part of this...xxx

Don't be silly...vote green...
It's all bullshit in my opinion re: The 3 main parites MEP election manifestos... All 3 main parties mired in corruption and controversy (so whats new?).. The only logical and realistic alternative for the euro parliamentary election (and who I've just voted for)...Are the Green Party. Go Sarah go..
..And still I climb
I dunno...It's been a long, tough but rewarding day.. still so much to complete..chairs for Kay, Alison,Yan, Johnny...The Self Build, The Neighbourhood Gardening project, will I get through it all...You betcha!!..with a little help from my friends. Real on vertual... You all hold a special place in my heart...Nite nite all!! xxx
